Having made a name for themselves as successful DJ team in Bristol, in 1987, Andrew “Mushroom” Vowles and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall founded Massive Attack together with graffiti artist Robert del Naja aka “3D”. Massive Attack has impacted, coined and inspired the international music scene like few others bands.
Each of their four studio albums – “Blue Lines,” “Protection,” “Mezzanine” and “100th Window” – is a masterwork of its own, redefining genre boundaries and leaving its mark on contemporary soundscapes. Their music has defined the trip-hop genre with hypnotic hip hop rhythms, dub grooves, soul and exquisite sample sounds.
Eagerly anticipated by fans, September 2009 will see the release of the new studio album. The album features contributions from renowned artists like Horace Andy, Damon Albarn, Guy Garvey and Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio). Together with David Sitek, Daddy G himself will also work as a producer himself.
In early November, Massive Attack will present the new album live in Austria for the first time!
