The legendary group is back on stage together!
It was 20 years ago, in 1989, that the legendary and extremely successful band was formed with Tibor Tátrai guitarist, Charlie Horváth singer, Géza Pálvölgyi keyboardist, Tamás Kovács bass guitar player and other excellent musicians. The famous group is getting back to stage together again on 18 December 2009 in the Papp László Budapest Sport Arena for an unforgettable concert!
On its formation, at the end of the 80’s Tátrai Band created a completely unique style in music based on the individual artistic talents and approaches of Tibor Tátrai and Géza Pálvölgyi, the two composers. A special value was added by the musicians playing in the group and the fabulous singer, Charlie; and also the appealing lyrics written by Tamás Kovács.
The first outstanding success was brought by the song “New York” in 1991 and from that time there was no stop: the Band’s national tours ended in the Budapest Sport Arena or the Budapest Congress Centre entertaining full house crowds. Tátrai Band published a series of albums several of which reached gold record award.
After more than 10 years of performance and wonderful achievements the band stopped its concert tours; however they did not say goodbye to the audience. The musicians were aware that sooner or later they would play together again and they would go back to stage when they all feel the strong desire to do so. The time will come on 18 December 2009 when – after 10 years – Tátrai Band is giving a concert to celebrate the group’s 20th birthday; and to remember Tamás Kovács, who passed away.
