Lawrence Brownlee: 18.6.2012, PRAHA

American tenor Lawrence Brownlee established himself as one of the best Rossini singers. Following his triumphal success at the Metropolitan Opera (Almaviva at Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia on 26th April 2007), he sang the role at many prestigious opera scenes, including Vienna State Opera and La Scala, Milan. He was first seen at the Live from the MET Broadcasts in 2009 (Don Ramiro in Rossini’s Cenerentola) as well as in the following year (Rinaldo in Rossini‘s Armida), both to a great success. In Prague, he will introduce himself in arias of Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti.

 

Elīna Garanča: 25.9.2012, PRAHA

The young mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča has quickly established herself as one of the music world’s stars through her performances with leading opera theaters and symphony orchestras around the world. She has captured critical and popular acclaim for her beautiful voice, intelligent musicianship, and compelling stage portrayals. The 2010-11 season started with Ms Garanca embarking on a major European Concert Tour and making a return to the MET for a revival of Carmen. She also sang with the Berliner Philharmoniker & Gustavo Dudamel in a series of New Year (Silvester) Concerts. To complete the season, she will sing the role of Giovanna Seymour in Donizetti's Anna Bolena at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona and at Zurich Opera, as well as performing in concert with Maestros Riccardo Muti, Paavo Järvi and Karel Mark Chichon and giving various recitals in Europe.

 

 

Ildebrando D'Arcangelo: 23.10.2012, PRAHA

With his powerful stage presence and the unmatched richness of his voice, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo is celebrated by critics and the public alike as one of today’s most exciting bass baritones. He is particularly noted for his interpretations of Mozart’s Figaro, Don Giovanni and Leporello while his repertoire also includes a vast selection of roles from the bel canto era by Bellini, Donizetti and Rossini as well as from the baroque repertoire by Monteverdi, Handel and Vivaldi. A Native of Pescara, D'Arcangelo began his studies in 1985 at the conservatory of Luisa D'Annunzio in Pescara, under Maria Vittoria Romano, honing his skills under Paride Venturi in Bologna.
