After the highly successful first stops of Alegria, Cirque du Soleil is about to present its internationally celebrated production in Vienna. The spectacular artistic show has cast its spell on an audience of half a million in the course of this tour alone. Breathtaking acrobatics, magical costumes and the live soundtrack are sure to make for a great evening.
“Alegria” is Spanish for luck, happiness and excitement. These are exactly the emotions inspired by this exceptional artistic show. The viewer experiences over two hours of an acrobatic tour de force, surrounded by sensational choreography and a dreamlike backdrop. Light and sound cascades amplify the imaginary character of the unique performances. With the help of 400 costumes, wigs and accessories, the 55 actors become masters of disguise.
Alegria sets new standards of acrobatics. The synchro trapeze duo contradicting the laws of gravity and the intense “Russian Bars” bursting with energy and catapulting the protagonists ten meters up into the air are outstanding. The fire-knife-dance shows the magic of danger: burning blades circle around the bodies. “Power Track” demonstrates the ardor of youth: a brilliant performance of synchronized choreography, set on a trampoline system hidden below the stage. One attraction is followed by the next: Alegria is unique experience, much more than just a show, and appeals to young and old. Cirque du Soleil seeks to resonate with people, fire their imagination and challenge their senses. The medley of acrobatics, music, dance and theatre that Alegria unites in arena size undoubtedly lives up to that intention. The multi-faceted cast of characters and the opulent optics takes the audience deep into fantastic dreamscapes.
