The grand 19th century ballet drama, set in a fantastic India, tells the story of the devadasi (temple dancer) Nikia, who is in love with the noble warrior Solor. Vladimir Malakhov based his interpretation for the Viennese ballet on Marius Petipa’s choreography. The music is by the Austrian composer Ludwig Minkus.
