It is hard to believe that the extraordinary stage show Stomp, an interplay of percussion, movement and scenic humor, is already in its teens: it has been staged for no less than fifteen years since it premiered in the summer of 1991. Not only is Stomp the result of ten years of collaboration between Luke Cresswell und Steve McNicholas, the two inventors of the show, it also marks the genesis of a theatrical performance that has been continuously growing and changing since its birth. Stomp has inspired capacity audiences all around the world.
Never before has sweeping, rinsing and mopping been more sensual, efficient and fun; never before have garbage bags turned into surprise packets and metal lids into symphonic obsessions. Once again, the probably most famous cleaning brigade of all ages will let it plop, click and crack in Austria, sweeping you away with its message: it’s all rhythm, it’s all music!
