Eight Emmas, the Echo 2004 for best newcomer, the World Music Award 2004 for best-selling Scandinavian band, and two "MTV European Music Awards" are only a few of the trophies The Rasmus have acquired during their fourteen years of career. Having played 250 concerts in 40 countries and taken a creative break, front man Lauri Ylönen’s Finnish band is back with a new album: the end of September saw the release of “Black Roses”!

The teen rock band, which had their debut in the assembly hall of a Finnish school in 1994, have already sold more than 2,5 million albums worldwide. At home, they entered the charts with their very first record “Peep” (1996). A year later, they released "Playboys", in 1998 "Hell Of A Tester" und in 2001 "Into". With the hit album “Dead Letters“ (2003) and the top single “In the Shadows”, The Rasmus made their international breakthrough. The album sold 1,5 million times, was in the top ten in ten countries and top of the charts in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Two years later, their success continued with “Hide from the Sun” and live concerts in front of an audience of up to 100000 fans (Mexico City) in 40 different countries.

After this monster-tour, The Rasmus took a creative break. The result of their inspired withdrawal manifests itself in the eleven elaborate and multifarious songs on “Black Roses”, the new album released at the end of September: courageous, professional, brimful with potential hits and rather ‘pop’, the quartet takes off to a new era. An era which will also bring The Rasmus to Austria’s Ennstal: On April 4th 2009, the band will give a spectacular live concert. Let’s look forward to the 4th Open-Air am Hauser Kaibling, presented by the “Ennstaler” and the Hauser Kaibling cable cars.
