On 28 April 2020, the Austrian Federal Government passed a law to ensure the diversity of the range of events in Austria. According to this law, promoters were entitled to refund the ticket price, also in the form of a voucher, for events that could not take place on the originally planned date after 13 March 2020 or that had to be cancelled. By issuing the vouchers, promoters received the liquidity they need to continue operating during and after the COVID 19 pandemic. This should protect buyers from the effects of possible insolvencies.
