World Athletics Ultimate Championship – Where Legends Are Crowned

The World Athletics Ultimate Championship is a groundbreaking, biennial athletics event that brings together the world’s top-ranked track and field athletes to compete in a head-to-head format like no other. Designed to be the culmination of the global athletics season, it provides a spectacular, fast-paced finale in years without the World Athletics Championships.

The Best of the Best – No Limits, No Second Chances

This championship sets a new benchmark in elite sport: only the very best qualify. Olympic and world champions line up alongside Diamond League winners and top-performing athletes of the season – all chasing the same goal: to be crowned the Ultimate Champion.

Unlike traditional championships, there is no limit to how many athletes from each country may participate in a given event. Qualification is earned, not allocated.

The relay teams for the mixed 4x100m and 4x400m qualify through the World Athletics Relays, further raising the competitive bar.

High-Stakes Format with Every Moment Counting

The Ultimate Championship features 28 events – sprint to distance, field to relays – condensed into three intense sessions, each approximately three hours long. There are no heats, no warm-ups – only semifinals and finals, where every performance matters.

Track semifinals feature just eight athletes, with only four advancing. Distance events and relays are straight finals, making every race a high-stakes showdown.
