Biography - Billy Talent

Billy Talent is a Canadian melodic punk rock band from Ontario. Formed in 1993 with Ben Kowalewicz (lead vocal), Ian D’Sa (guitar), Jon Gallant (bass) and Aaron Solowoniuk (drums), they existed for almost a decade before mainstream success. Until 1999 the band was known in the underground Toronto indie music scene under the name Pezz. The band renamed itself Billy Talent after running into legal trouble with the old name. In 2002, the band landed a record deal and launched into mainstream success. Since then Billy Talent had made two multi-platinum records in Canada, and continues to expand their success overseas. They even toured for 20 month supporting their third album. In 2009, they released a fourth album “Billy Talent ///” and their fifth album “Dead Silence” in 2012. The latter was followed up by a full UK tour over October and November 2012.

Ein Garant für gute Laune - punkrock vom Feinsten

Ich habe Billy Talent bestimmt schon 6 mal live gesehen und so waren sie auch diesmal wieder ein Garant für ein tolles Event! Ben hat einfach unfassbar viel Energie und die Songs klingen live noch besser als am Album. Eine sehr bunt gemischte Setlist der sympathischen Kanadier und ganz viele Songs zum Mitgrölen. Sehr feines Konzert - wie immer. Beim nächsten ö gig sicher wieder dabei

NIE WIEDER GASOMETER

Ich weiß nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Dass der Sound im Gasometer noch nie "gut" war, wissen alle die schon mal ein Konzert dort besucht haben. Der Sound bei Billy Talent war so grottenschlecht dass es die Band selbst nicht glauben konnte, und mehrmals mit den Technikern Kontakt aufgenommen hat. Ich denke deshalb wollten sie wohl auch keine Zugabe mehr spielen. Ich weiß nicht ob der Veranstalter eine Bass Zulage bekommt, aber so hat es sich angehört. Wenn man weder die Toms vom Schla...
