David August, the Italian-German composer and multi-instrumentalist, evolved artistically through a new focus on emotionality and experimental approaches. Following a classical music education and early success as a DJ and producer, he founded the label 99CHANTS to collaborate with artists like Lena Platonos and Ron Trent and to offer a platform for lesser-known artists. In 2022, August released the compilation "Imaginary Landscapes" and previously launched "DCXXXIX A.C." and "D’ANGELO", both showcasing his versatility. During the pandemic, he delved into studies of philosophy and mysticism, creating "VĪS", a multidisciplinary project that reinterprets human evolution through sound, an art book, and a live show. August has collaborated with the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, remixed artists like Max Cooper, and performed globally, including at London’s Roundhouse, Berlin’s Columbiahalle, and festivals like Sonar and Montreux Jazz.
