The first GP of Austria took place in 1964 in the area of the military airfield in Zeltweg. From then on the race became - with interruptions - one of the highlights of the sport''s year in Austria. Completely rebuilt and now fully moved to Spielberg, the last Grand Prix of Austria took Place in 2003 and has since then been on hiatus. Now the racetrack - being renamed to Red Bull Ring - will see Formula One races again, since the racing circus is coming back to Austria.

Alles in allem haben mich das Event und die Organisation sehr enttäuscht.
Unsere Karten auf der Start-Ziel-Tribüne nur für den Rennsonntag haben regulär 450.-/Stück gekostet. Gesehen hat man von unserem Platz in Sektor A trotzdem kaum etwas, da der Bereich viel zu weit rechts der Boxengasse gelegten ist (eher am Ausgang der Zielkurve). Letztendlich bezahlten wir ein Vermögen dafür, dass wir das Rennen auf einer großen Leinwand anschaut und die Autos in regelmäßigem Abstand vorbeifahren sahen.

Gutes Parkplatzkonzept, tolle Veranstaltung mit vielen Highlights (mehrere Rennen, diverse Flugacts, spannendes Rahmenprogramm,...), viele Möglichkeiten zum Essen und Trinken (Wasser kann gratis nachgefüllt werden - spitze!), saubere Sanitäranlagen, sichere Veranstaltung mit Präsenz der Polizei und Rettung.
