Jochen Distelmeyer gründete 1990 mit Andre Rattay und Eike Bohlken die Band Blumfeld. 1992 erschien das erste Album der Band mit dem Titel "Ich-Maschine", welches von der Presse euphorisch gefeiert wurde. Es folgten weitere Alben und Tourneen im In- und Ausland. 2007 fand jedoch die große Abschiedstournee der Band statt. Zwei Jahre später veröffentlichte Jochen Distelmeyer sein erstes Soloalbum "Heavy" und die Singles "Lass uns Liebe sein" und "Regen". Anfang 2015 erschien "Otis", sein erste Roman, im Rowohlt Verlag. Für Februar 2016 ist sein zweites Soloalbum "Songs From The Bottom Vol. 1" angekündigt.
