Dr. Pop hat Medienwissenschaften und Popmusik in den vier Popmusikmetropolen dieser Welt studiert: In Manchester, Liverpool, Paderborn und Detmold. Anschließend promovierte er zu den Themen Terrorismus und Orientalismus in der Popmusik an der Humboldt- Universität zu Berlin. Dr. Pop steht auf der Bühne, tritt in verschiedenen TV-Formaten auf, produziert Videos und ist als wöchentlicher Kolumnist bei radioeins vom RBB mit der Rubrik „Dr. Pops Tonstudio“ zu hören. Die Rubrik wurde von der Jury des Grimme-Instituts für den deutschen Radiopreis in der Kategorie „Beste Comedy“ nominiert. Als Moderator und Comedian ist er bereits in der Waldbühne Berlin vor mehr als 17.000 Menschen aufgetreten. Sein Buch „Dr. Pops musikalische Sprechstunde“ (Heyne-Verlag) wurde ins Koreanische übersetzt und in Südkorea auf den Markt gebracht (Whale-Books.)
