Der Kabarettist und Kinderchirurg Omar Sarsam ist ein echter Wiener. Hat also irakische Wurzeln mit tschechischen und kroatischen Einflüssen und ist in Österreich aufgewachsen, was seiner Meinung nach ein Privileg darstellt.
2004 stand er bei der Impro-Show "Hands Up" im Wiener Kabarett Niedermair erstmals auf der Kabarettbühne. Gemeinsam mit Marc Bernhuber landete er als die "Discoparty Brothers" den Hit "Disco, Disco, Party, Party" mit mehr als 16 Millionen Klicks auf Youtube. Im Februar 2016 präsentierte Omar Sarsam sein erstes Soloprogramm "Diagnose:Arzt", 2017 folgte das Adventprogramm "Oh Du Andere". Von 2018 – 2020 war er mit seinem zweiten Kabarettprogramm "HERZALARM" unterwegs.
Omar Sarsam wirkt regelmäßig bei TV-Sendungen wie "Was gibt es Neues" oder "Kabarettgipfel" im ORF mit und führte 2019 durch das Puls 4-Format "Comedy Grenzgänger". Mit Michael Niavarani und Klaus Eckel plaudert er auf player.globe.wien seit letztem März im gemeinsamen wöchentlichen Podcast über "Alles außer Corona". Im September 2021 hat sein drittes Soloprogramm "Sonderklasse" im Wiener Stadtsaal Premiere. Omar Sarsam ist verheiratet und hat 2 Kinder.
