The Gala Performances of the Spanish Riding School combine centuries-old tradition with the unique atmosphere of Vienna’s magnificent baroque Winter Riding School.

The live-moderated performances offer a comprehensive insight into the art of classical horsemanship - from the various choreographies and exercises of the "Airs on the Ground" to the spectacular lessons of the "Airs Above the Ground", the famous school jumps.
Across six programme highlights, the horses and riders demonstrate a harmonious partnership perfected together over many years. Piaffe, Passage and Pirouette are joined by Levade, Courbette and Capriole, showcasing the excellence and athleticism of both rider and horse.

Biography - Spanish Riding School
The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is the only institution in the world where classical horsemanship in the Renaissance tradition of the "High School" has been preserved and practised continuously for more than 460 years.
It is a living tradition in which the values and knowledge of the past meet the passion and dedication of the present - keeping the art of classical horsemanship alive for future generations.
