The Donaubühne is the biggest river stage and also Austria’s only open air summer stage that answers the taste of a whole region. Operetta, Schlager music, Rock, Musical, Comedy: every promoter has his special field. Ours is variety.
Having become an attraction of its own, the Donaubühne anchors in Tulln, ashore the river Danube, since 1999. Hence the venues name: “Donau”, the German word for “Danube” and “Bühne”, the German expression for “stage”.
In this impressive scenery, visitors are offered a tremendous variety of international and Austrian artists. Jamie Cullum, Van Morrison, Mick Hucknall, Christina Stürmer, Goran Bregovic, Wofgang Ambros, Yamato – The Drummers of Japan, Kurt Ostbahn, only to name a few, already have performed on this stage. As well as comedy stars like Helge Schneider, Michael Niavarani, Roland Düringer or several opera or musical productions.
In addition, the romantic riverside atmosphere and gastronomic assortment ensure the well being of our guests, making them remember their visit fondly.
